About Naha

Naha is the largest and the capital city of Okinawa Prefecture, an overseas region located in southern Japan.

A notable site in Naha is the Shuri castle, an important castle during the Ryukyu Kingdom, built in the Okinawan style. It was rebuilt after its destruction in 1945 by the Imperial Japanese military during World War II. After its reconstruction, it was declared, along with other Okinawan castles and sacred places, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thanks to its subtropical climate, Naha and Okinawa turn to be a popular tourist destination among Japanese and foreigners. The large number of hotels and resorts attract many tourists to the archipelago.
